Hey,
So I just started using the Nuva Ring today. I inserted it on my period.
I have a couple questions. Is it necessary to take it out and clean it? Because I imagine it has blood on it, and I don't want it to start smelling or something. Or should I just leave it alone? Along similar lines, when I take a shower tomorrow morning, is it okay for me to clean my vagina with my finger/ the hot shower water without removing the ring? I have read stuff about hot water compromising effectiveness.
Thoughts?

There's no need to take the ring out and clean it, but if you'd feel more comfortable, you can rinse it in luke warm water.

As for taking a shower, you'd want to avoid directing the water directly into your vagina, anyway. So, cleaning your vulva is perfectly fine.
