Yet another Patch question for me.

So my normal patch change day is on Sunday (tomorrow) and my current patch (1 of 3) fell off today after a shower. I immediately applied a new patch and read over the instructions that come with the contraception. According to that, after applying the next patch, change it on the normal patch change day. Since I am less than 24 hours away from my normal patch change day, do I still have to change the newly applied patch tomorrow (Sunday) or since the time difference is so small, can I treat the patch falling off as if it is a normal changing of the patch?

Thanks.

Sorry to bother again, but since today is my normal patch change day, it would be handy to know if I should be changing the patch I put on to replace the other today or not.

Thanks again.

Sorry to miss this, Tashi. Just so you know for the future, you do not have to wait on us with this stuff: you can (and should) always call your pharmacist with these questions, and I believe the ortho company that makes your patch also has a hotline.

To my understanding, unfortunately you will need to change to a new patch today.

Alright. Thanks for the response. (I got the birth control from Planned Parenthood, so no pharmacist for me). The hotline is good to know about though.

Thanks.

You can always call your PP branch then, too! [Smile] When a clinic is also a dispensary, they will have staff who can consult about the medications they dispense.

FYI, any pharmacist is able to answer any medication question and most should willing to answer your questions no matter where you bought them.
