Hello,

This is the first month that I have used the patch and I started the first one right around the time that my peirod was due to begin. Toward the end of thefirst week I had a very light flow. Now on the second week I am having a very light period.

This isn't my normal cycle becouse those always start heavy and then ease up over the week. I have been getting morning sickness which I blamed on the patch becouse my Mom said she had it on the pill.

My worry is that this bleeding means the patch isn't working. Should I be concerned or just calm down?

Thank you for any help.

A change in the pattern of your cycles, especially when you're first starting any sort of hormonal birth control, is perfectly normal and not something to be concerned about. It also is no indication that your BC isn't working properly. You should notice your bleeds settling into a pattern in the next few months, but until then you may have some spotting or bleeding.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will calm down and wait for my system to sort itself out.
