Hi goldfish!

You should be fine in terms of being protected against pregnancy with that 20 minute window. What brand/type of pills do you take? That said, BCP are designed to be effective all month long, including during your period/while taking the placebo pills. [Smile]

You can read more on BCP here: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/advice/three_questions_about_taking_the_birth_control_pill_and_plenty_of_answers

It's definitely good to be sure. [Smile]

Just to be more specific, you have a three-hour window on either side: "With the Minipill it is very important to take one pill every day, within a three hour window every day. Unlike combination pills, not taking minipills at pretty close to the same time each day can decrease effectiveness."

That's from our article on minipills: Progesterone-Only Oral Contraceptives (Minipills)
