Just posting a little information on my experience with this perticular contraceptive, Depo-Provera. First of all if u don't know or havnt heard of this form of contraceptive, it is a needle u get every 3 months which provents pregnancy,(not STD's) I started using this about a year ago, my boyfriend at the time told me it was the best way to go (so he heard from other females..) and well it works for different people, but effects people in different ways. My own experience with it was not the weight gain that most females experienced, but the whole emotional part of it. I found that i started to become more depressed and feeling down more than i used to. The Depo-Provera caused my period to completely stop eventually and yes u might think that sounds awsome!! but really i don't think that this can seriously be good for u. I have been off Depo-Provera for probably 3-4 months or so, and my period still has not returned AT ALL, No spotting, No bloching NOTHING. This is getting me pretty worried and stressed out. I dont think there is really anything i can do about this except wait it out and see, but really i would not be one to advise this to anyone, but hey it effects everyone in their own different way. Mine wasn't a totaly positive experience, but it was over 99.97% effective. I just thought i would let people know about my experience with Depo-Provera, i just want people to know to look into it alot further before taking it.

PEACE

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that had a crappy experience with Depo. I, as I'm sure you all know quite well by now, conceived my son while I was on Depo. I immediately stopped getting my injections, and gave birth in August. That's been exactly two months ago. (happy 2-month birthday Evan! ) I was supposed to start getting periods again after 4-6 weeks and still haven't. I've taken numerous pregnancy tests, they've all come back negative, so I know for darn sure I'm not pregnant again. Depo sucks.
