Knowing Utah, I'm amazed that anyone even brought up birth control in a public setting. Obviously her racism isn't acceptable, but there are families that size no matter what the race in Utah. Of course they shut her down, though...and it is sort of funny.

LOGAN, Utah A 76-year-old woman has been barred from the bus station after giving unwanted birth-control advice to mothers with large families.

"I think it's wrong. It's a violation of my First Amendment rights," Laura Stevens said.

She was arrested Tuesday for trespassing, a misdemeanor, according to police records.
"The passengers have a right to ride and not be intimidated," Todd Beutler said.

Stevens said she recently noticed a Hispanic mother struggling to control her six children.

"I felt sorry for her. Maybe she doesn't know that she could get a patch and not have a kid for five years," Stevens said.

She said she will fight the trespassing charge when she appears in Logan's Municipal Court on Tuesday.

"We want her to ride the bus," Beutler said. "We just need to make sure that she's not harassing any other passengers."

While her speech should be protected as free speech, she's still a jerk for disrespecting other people's reproductive choices. While many regard defense of reproductive choice as primarily defending women's rights to choose legal and safe abortion, some folks forget that many women choose to bear children, sometimes more than we would agree with. And if you don't like that, it ain't yo' bid-ness. After all, choosing to terminate a pregnancy you cannot sustain is just a much a choice as choosing to bear 16 children (like the Duggars?).

I would like to know how she was approaching other passengers. It does sound like she was more than a mere busy body.
