I am thinking about stopping taking the pill. I just recently got on Lo Orval but it isnt working for me. My doctor put me on a 4 month on and 1 week period and then 4 more months on. Can I just stop whenever or do i have to wait fo rthe fourth month to end???

If you're really not liking how the pill is working out for you, there's no reason you can't stop in the middle of a cycle. Just be aware that you may have some cycle wonkiness for a month or so after stopping, since your body will be a bit confused with you stopping the hormones. And don't forget to let your doctor know that you'll be stopping it mid-cycle, so they're aware in case anything else is to come up.

Also, if you're using the pill for pregnancy protection, just remember that it's very important you're using an additional method such as condoms, since you're not going to be able to rely on the pill once you stop taking it. You may also be able to speak to your doctor or a gynecologist about an additonal non-hormonal method you could pair with condoms for extra protection if you are seuxally active.
