Ok I already posted a topic on 'unprotected on placebos'...But I have been told by a couple of friends that whilst I'm taking my placebo pills, I'm not protected from pregnancy! Am I protected or not?

Please help guys, I'm really confused, seriously.

You ARE protected. Stop worrying. The three weeks of hormones that you took before the placebos is keeping you protected. The placebos cause a very slight dip in the level of hormones in your body, just enough to cause a withdrawal bleed.

(And just to boost what daria said if you ever find yourself a bit worried again: who would you rather believe, your friends, or the teams of scientists and medicinal specialists who created the hormonal birth control to help prevent pregnancy? As long as you're taking it as prescribed, which includes the placebo week? [Smile] )

Or, show your friends this: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/pill/sfeature/sf_cycle_text.html

It explains the differences between a normal menstrual cycle and a cycle on the pill, and why you don't get pregnant during placebos. [Smile]
