So my boyfriend has had sex before, I'm not sure how many times or with how many people but that is not really the point. I want to know how to tell him that I want him to get tested for std's without sounding like a total prude.

As well, I am getting tested next Thursday, and I was wondering what should I expect? Like are there any articles describing what kind of tests are done?

Thanks for your help!

STI testing should be part of ANYONE's sexual health, so asking shouldn't make you sound like a "prude" (how is it prude to want to keep your well-being and health in mind?) - and as your partner, he should be happy and willing to get an STI screening done, not only for HIS well-being, but to not endager your well-being, as well!

I'd suggest just saying to him, "I'm getting an STI screening done next week, and before we become (or continue being) sexually active, I'd like you to get one done, too!"

And as far as what to expect? Vioala: Testing, Testing... that's our article on STI testing! [Smile]

Thank you so much! Honestly, lol, I am more nervous about asking him to get tested than I am about going to a gyncologist and getting tested myself. But ya, thanks for your help, he already knows that I am getting tested next week, so I will tell him that I would like him to get tested also.
