Okay, it seems like no one else in the WORLD is having this problem, but I've been on birth control for several years, the pill sucks, the patch was always making me have break through bleeding, and now I was put on the nuvaring, but no matter which ring I put in, and it almost completely SLIPS OUT like a tampon every hour or 2 and I have to re-insert it and its becoming very embarassing and annoying, and even though I called the hot-line, they told me I wasn't putting it up far enough...
I knew this, and they recommended that I take a tampon and take out the cotton part, put the ring in, and put it in that way. STILL DOESN'T WORK. I will even feel afterwards and make SURE that it is up as far as it can go to the point where I can barely feel it anymore, and an hour later, it's hanging out of my crotch. I swear, its like walking around with a tampon half-in. how could ANYONE have sex with this in??? My mom even showed me how to put it in as far as I could go and she said to lay back on the bed and relax so that none of the muscles get in the way and that it could go as far in as possible.
I'm seriously at the end of my rope guys, this stupid ring is driving me nuts, and it seems like I'm the only person going through this! please help ASAP!!!!

Don't worry, you're not the only one! I'm new to the Nuva Ring (just started two weeks ago) and I had a problem with it slipping out too (it stayed for a week by itself but one day it kept trying to come out) and heard of it happening to lots of women. The problem is that when you put it straight up (vertically) into your vagina it won't stay for long. It has to be diagonal, hooking behind your cervix and resting on top of your pubic bone (which is at the front wall of your vagina and easiest to access with your finger from behind you, not in front). Once I did that it stopped slipping out. I suggest going to your doctor and getting them to check the position for you. That's what I did and she said the diagonal way is the best. Really it doesn't matter how far you push it into you, because if it's not in the right position it won't make a difference (the hotline people sound like a bunch of fools. They should KNOW how to put it in properly). And you should be ok with touching yourself because to make sure the ring is in the correct position you need to feel around up there.

thank you so much! I know exactly what you mean now, my mom suggested me printing this out and trying it step by step. It's great to know that I'm not the only one!

No problem. Once you get it into a good position it's really nice. Especially since you only have to change it once a month (I just couldn't remember to take a pill everyday). I hope you don't have anymore difficulties with it. I too know the hassle of going through different types of birth control that only cause you problems. Completely frustrating!
