I have been researching my birth control options recently and I read a little bit about the Lunelle injection. What I didn't find in my reading was whether the shot was effective during the first month or if several shots were required for it to be effective. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Lunelle is very much like Depo Provera. According to my dad (a practicing MD), the first shot is effective. Of course, both Lunelle and Depo Provera have failure rates (my friend's sister conceived while on Depo), which is why we always suggest using condoms in addition to hormonal birth control.
