My question is going to be a bit different. When it comes to manual, alone or with a partner, I have no issues maintaining an erection, but when receiving oral, or during intercourse I get very nervous and lose it every time.
My main question is I want to know if pills for erectile dysfunction would correct this. I know for sure it is due to nervousness and I know why I am nervous, and I also know the underlying reason for this is not going to change. I am remaining aroused mentally, but the nervousness sets in each time and I lose it. So, in short, would pills for erectile dysfunction work in this scenario?

No.

The treatments for ED that are on the market are vasodilators. They work by helping relax blood vessels, so that an erection can occur, and remain maximally rigid for more time. However, these erections aren't proof against psychological concerns like anxiety.

I'd also be concerned about side effects, like vision problems and indigestion, being more of an issue if you don't have the venous constriction problems that these things are usually proscribed for.

If the problem you're having is nervousness, you need to work on the nervousness. The underlying reason may not be subject to change, but your response to it does not have to stay the same.

These are good questions to ask a doctor about, however, if this is about feeling very nervous, unless having the pills -- if a doctor okayed that for you at all -- all by itself made you feel less nervous, you'd likely still have to find ways to relax.

Get what I'm saying?

Getting the pills from a doctor would be a non-issue. Around where I am, one need only tell a doctor they need them and they will be prescribed. If they do not work, then other things could be looked into. I am thinking I should get them and try and try anyway to see if by some chance they do work. The underlying reason for my nervousness is such that if it is there, the nervousness will be too.

You are aware that these medications carry health risks, yes? So, at the very least, can you try and see a doctor who you know will evaluate if it is healthy for you to use them, rather than acting outside medical ethics by just giving patients whatever pills they ask for?

You misunderstand. I will not just get a prescription if I ask. They will make sure it will not harm me, and if that is the case, they will prescribe it.

...just sounded a whole lot like that wasn't what you were saying.

Hi anxiousguy11.

Ive just registered with this site solely to answer your question.

I myself have been in exactly the same situation as the one you describe.

At the time I went through loads of websites for answers...basically coming back with that I had performance anxiety.

Everything would be fine up until I actually had to preform as it were, basically because I was very nervous.

I went to my doctor and told him everything and he did in fact prescribe viagra, I was unsure that I needed them as everything worked, however he told me that it would help in the fact that if I knew that I had a strong erection that would help put my mind at ease and hopefully things would progress a bit more normally from there.

So I did try them and yes it helped a lot and defiantly helped me.

So I would suggest you speak to your doctor about it and see what he says..

As to the loss of erection during oral sex, this has happened many times to me because basically for me I dont find it that stimulating.

Good luck bud

In saying that, I meant only that I do not have to be diagnosed with erectile dysfunction. If I say I need them, and they determine it is safe, it will be prescribed.

Jonzo: I will try that then, very good to know. Thank you.
