Hi. I'm 19, and ever since I got to college this fall, my period has been...a bit less than regular. I got it right before I came (in September), then it skipped a couple of months, then I got it in December and January, skipped February, and just got it a week ago. And when it does come, I don't get cramps. I always got cramps before. I'm a virgin, so there was never a possibility that I was pregnant--that's why I didn't get it checked out before. But what are the possible causes of this? Is this kind of thing usually serious?

Big life changes, such as moving away to go to college, can have an effect on the menstrual cycle. But if you've been having irregular periods for a few months now, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it checked out, just to be safe.
