Recently my husband and I have decided to try and use some lubricants... but I was wondering if I need to somehow douche or clean myself after sex.

Any answers would be great!

Douching isn't good for your vaginal health. It messes up the balance of your vaginal flora and often inclines the vagina towards infection. Women who douche, for instance, have higher rates of BV than women who do not.

The vagina cleans itself, be that from semen or lubricants. If you want to shower or just wipe yourself off that's fine, but there is no need to do anything else.

I usually feel the need to wipe up after using lube, but I just use a towel or toilet paper to get the excess liquid off. That should be plenty. Just make sure that your using lubes that are good for your vagina. The store bought ones are pretty safe, but household stuff can be pretty sketchy.

A wipe should be enough. A damp washcloth does the trick fine. If it really bothers you, you could take a shower, but that usually isn't necessary, especially if you find a lube that works really well with your body. I suggest O'My lube; it's natural so it doesn't have weird ingredients in it, and it feels great.

Feminism is just another tool women should have in their toolboxes, right next to their dildo.
