so my boyfriend and i have been together over a year. ive been on birth control for a year and when we have sex we use condoms aswell. i was wondering if we had gotten tested for stds and were clean, how safe is it to not use a condom once and a while? we talked about it and he said he didnt want to presure me or anything but he said we should find out how safe it is just incase. because i dont want to get pregnant at this age at all, and it sort of scares me.

Generally we recommend that couples have negative STD results after two rounds of testing that are six months apart before they decide to abandon latex barriers. So if you do one more round of tests and get negative results, you'd be at a reasonably low risk.
