I've always wondered about this and didn't want to ask someone, obviously.. But when I read a few posts on the Hymen layer, I was curious.

There was this one time that I was masturbating [not with my fingers]. And my mom and I went somewhere after I did that in private and I had to go to the bathroom. So I did and I noticed that there was blood on my underwear. I thought it might've been my period, but the next day it was gone. And nothing like that has happened ever since. Could that be it?

[PS - I didn't know whether to put this in the Body and Soul boards or here.]

Well, it could be spotting, or you could have torn the hymen or scratched your vagina or some other part of your vulva.

Hymens are seldom totally intact once girls reach puberty. If they were, your menstrual blood couldn't leave the body.

Anyway, you could take a hand mirror and look down at your genitals and try to see what's going on. Or you could see a doctor for a pelvic exam and ask all the questions you have.

as long as you don't feel pain (like you've been cut or injured), and you don't have a strange bleeding and/or discharges, then I don't see a reason to worry.
