I was wondering what exactly does lube do just make it easier for ur partner to go into u? should u always use lube? is lotion like the same thing or no?

Lubrication makes it easier for your partner to penetrate you, yes. It's our first suggestion when young women complain about painful sex.
You pretty much need to have it on hand at all times; some times of the month may be "drier" than others, not to mention the natural stuff can dry out easily, especially during extended sessions.

(And also? Lotion and lubricant are not the same thing - personal lubricant is water-based and condom and vagina safe. Lotion will pretty much break down the latex in a condom and it's totally not vagina friendly.)
