Yes it will, wet dreams are caused by an increase of sexual tension and releasing it by masturbation will stop it happening during the night. I prefer letting nature take its course and have have a dream you will remember!

So, since wet dreams happen as a result of built up sexual tension, does that mean that stopping masterbation for a time would increase the chances of having a wet dream?

If you have a lot of sex on your mind as a result, then yes, you might have more wet dreams.

however, take into account that a lot of people have fairly low libidos, and giving up sex for them might not be such a pressing issue.

or if you're like me, you'll just dream about being at work. so instead of spending 8 hours a day at a desk, you spend 16 hours mentally at a desk. i need a real vacation.

Also, understand that sexual tension -- or more accurately, sexual dreams -- really isn't the only reason for nocturnal emissions. Plain old changes in temperature, and/or the stimulus to the penis from sheets and blankets can also be aspects.

Generally, those who do masturbate more frequently tend to have nocturnal emissions less often.
