I hadn't really thought of this until someone asked me, and I had no idea. I realize it's a controversial (for lack of a better word) topic, but how is it possible for a woman to rape a man? Because, doesn't sex require an erect penis?

Maybe I'm missing something like the bigger picture, but they mentioned it to us in health class about how women aren't the only ones who get raped. And it never crossed my mind until someone else brought it up that it seems like it'd be impossible for a woman to rape a man. Unless in health class they were talking about men being raped by other men. But that just didn't seem to be the case.

Rape is forced sexual activity. Of any kind, not just intercourse.

Adult male rape by women is very rare: more often for male and female victims alike, the rapist is male. However, it is possible for people of all genders to force anyone into sexual activity, and that includes intercourse.

That can happen by virtue of the fact that male erection isn't always because of emotional arousal, and too boot, complicated as it is to really explain in a pat way, one's body can be physically aroused even if someone does not want to have sex or isn't feeling emotionally safe.

Men and boys are molested/assaulted as well as women. But, as Miz S said, it happens to girls and women more, and the perpetrator is usually male.
