I've been thinking about having sex with my boyfriend for a while. I believe we are both ready now. We are 17 years old and neither of us have had sex before. I volunteered at an AIDS clinic this summer so I know about STDs and I have condoms. However, we have not been tested and I am not on any kind of birth control. What are the risks here? Pregnancy and STDs?

If you haven't been tested, do it now. Same with your boyfriend. You obviously know that STD's are a big deal. You may want to get another form of birth control besides condoms, like the pill or patch before you have sex as well (although that is up to you).
