Ok, I think my last period began between the 13th and 16th of April. I kinda engaged in unprotected sex on the 4th of May. I made him stop after the first 3 insertions due to fear of getting pregnant so there was no ejaculation (only precum). I took the morning after pill on friday the 7th so I was within the 72 hour time frame... I know it's only the 13th of May but the stress of waiting for my period is wayyyy to much to handle, I have NO appetite! I need someone else's opionion, is it possible that I could be pregnant? When will my period come? GRRRRR!!!

Thanks in advance!

OK, here's the deal:

1. There's nothing "kinda" about having unprotected sex. Either you did or you didn't.

2. The withdrawal method is not a form of birth control, so don't even bother with it. You have no way of knowing how much, if any at all, pre-ejaculate was introduced into your vaginal area. Since pre-ejaculate can contain viable sperm, any unprotected penetration at all carries both STD/STI and pregnancy risks. FYI: Condoms are a great thing!

3. You were very responsible to get emergency contraception, and if you took it correctly, you're probably fine as far as the pregnancy risk goes. However, you still need to be screened for STD/STI's. If you haven't started seeing your gyn on a regular basis, now's the time to start!

LOL... well the "kinda" was because I stopped it from continutin. Maybe it's the wrong word to use. I have been with him for 5 years so I know there isn't any STD's. We have a 4 year old son and i just don't want any more. It lasted about 2 minutes and i said forget it. so like I said there wasn't any ejaculation, just a bad night for him... lol
The wedding is soon and I don't want any little surprises before then.
I did take the Plan B "morning after pill" so now it's just waiting.... GRRRR!!!

It's great that you can be sure that you don't have an STD/STI risk! Just to clarify, any time you have unprotected vaginal sex where penetration is involved (regardless of whether or not he ejaculates) there is a high risk of pregnancy. However, it sounds like you have pretty well taken care of that with the Plan B. I hope you have a wonderful wedding!

PS - You might want to check out this article http://www.scarleteen.com/reproduction/preg_risk.html

PS Again (lol) - Any hormonal BC (even emergency contraception) can mess with your cycles, so it my be a while before your period shows up again. If you're really nervous, you can take a home pregnancy test, or even go to the doctor for a blood test to be 100% sure after it's been 10-14 days after the incident.

Thanks Tab... I know this isn't a "negative" answer on a pregnancy test but you have calmed my anxiety a bit...

I'll keep ya posted.
Oh and have you ever heard of the Plan B NOT working if taken within the 72 hours?

If you take Plan B within 72 hours, it's been clinically shown to be 98% effective. So basically, I wouldn't worry about it. I've never have any experience with it personally, but my aunt (an RN) has administered over 200 doses and has only had one person become pregnant after taking it correctly, and she took it more than 100 hours after having unprotected sex. So almost for sure you don't have anything to worry about, other than pre-wedding jitters!

If you aren't looking to have another child right now, why don't you get on birth control and use a condom. I'd say thats your best and safest bet right now.

Also, remember the morning after pill shouldn't be used as a form a birth control.
