Hey this will be quick how old do u have to be to be on birth control and what are the consiouces of taking it i want to protect myself in other ways then using a condom please let me know!

Well, first and foremost, you'll have to visit your doctor, or your local planned parenthood, to find out if the pill is right for you. Some women cannot take it because of certain issues in their family medical history...
There isn't really an age limit on birth control - in fact, many younger women use it to make their periods more manageable.
I've personally used the pill for about 13 years, and have had a good experience with it. i like the convienence aspect, and i always liked the "extra" layer of security it added with condom use.
Bottom line, talk to your doctor about your family history, and they'll give you a birth control option which is right for you.

Um, I hope this means you're looking for another form of contraception to use *with* condoms, not *instead of* condoms. Remember that the pill can be a very effective means of preventing pregnancy, but it doesn't provide you with any protection against STDs. So you still need to practice safer sex.
