i was just wondering how long you should wait for sex after going on the pill. like, when is the best time to start, after frist taking the pill? thanks

You can talk to your Gyno about that, and they usually say to wait a month, and you should be ok, BUT~just to be on the safe side, go to you Gyno and talk to her and she will help you outand tell you whats right for you.

It's really important that you ask these questions of the GYN who prescribed birth control pills for you -- that's part of their job, to answer these questions, and they owe you that as part of the service, but you also have to ask them.
In *general * (still call your GYN) birth control pills are not at their peak of effectiveness until ONE FULL CYCLE (month) of taking them.
Becuase the birth control pill is not 100% effective, and because it does not offer ANY STD/STI protection whatsoever, we always suggest combining the pill with condom use, which is absolutely what you should do sheerly for birth control alone until you have taken the pill for one full cycle.
