no one can explain why guys do this. i know for sure that it feels better for a guy when he climaxes to be inside a woman. so maybe they do it for the same feel. it could also be a sense of control. you never know.

i do know that this board promotes safe sex and that you should use a condom when you do perform oral sex. maybe you should suggest this to your friend next time...it'll definitely pervent any swallowing next time as well as STD's.

Yes, you should definetly always use condoms, even during oral sex. But just for the questions sake, let's assume you and your partner have been tested for STD's and come out clean for the last two years and are totally not having an affair, then there is reasoning behind all this.

It's not so much that they like it to be swallowed, most males really couldn't care less, but a lot of guys involuntarily raise their hips when they orgasm, which tends to push the penis further into the girl's mouth, so let's all pray she doesn't choke. :P And a lot of guys just like the feeling of having their whole penis in something. Or maybe the guy has just watched a lot of pornographic videos, has no idea what he's doing, so he's at least trying to make it look right by imitating the movement. Other than that, that's all I know.

First thing... tell your friend to use condoms when she's performing oral sex on her boyfriend.

About swallowing ejaculate... I think some guys like to have girls do that because it's the whole dominant/submissive thing, it's a little power trip, I guess. Another reason for it is intimacy. If you 2 are in a really close relationship, when you swallow his ejaculate, it's like a "connection" between you two. As for a guy pushing a girl's head down, I heard that it feels much better when the whole penis is engulfed, even during oral sex.

Not only does your friend need to start using condoms, she should get tested for STD's. Oral sex without a condom is NOT safe sex!

Back to your original question: As expressed in the variety of opinions offered in the posts, there are different reasons why a guy might push a girl's head down so that she'll swallow his ejaculate. The bottom line, though, is that unless it's something she agrees to, it's inconsiderate. A smart male will be appreciative that he's getting a blow job at all, and while he may ask his girlfriend to do certain things he finds pleasurable, to coerce her to do something she may or may not want without asking is just rude.

And, to be fair, the same goes the other way around. No matter who is doing what to whom, sex of any sort should be an experience of shared pleasure, and that's helped considerably by lots of consideration and communication.

I think, maybe, perhaps, it's instinct.

Well, firstly, it's a reaction, you don't do it to control, or be mean, or to MAKE her swallow, or whatever. But my theory, is that of intercourse, and instinct, that when a man knows he's going to ejaculate, he'll push as far as he can into a woman to make the journey as short as possible for sperm, giving them more energy to work on their initial task, of penetrating the egg.

The fact it's a woman's head, as opposed to her butt doesn't change much in the theoretical instinct. You may not notice, or care when it's your butt, but I'm almost certain it still happens.

BUT... it's just a theory, I don't know.

i'll go with the theory that it's psychological.

my explanation: by swallowing, you are showing him that what you are doing isn't dirty to you in any way. it shows that you can be uninhibited with him. it could be similar to the idea of the significance of penetration -- you are taking something that came from him into your body.

or i could be completely off base here, and it might just be that he wants you to swallow because he cannot be bothered with the box of Kleenex.

i'll admit a peccadillo here (condoms, yes, i should have, but i didn't that time ) and say i've swallowed before. and it surprised him because to him, it was a very bold move. then go back to one of the explanations offered above.

yes i agree that he should have worn a condom b/c its better to be safe than sorry (lol). but he got tested a few weeks before (she told him to get tested) and he was clean. and as far as she knew, she was the only one he'd been with since then, so i guess she figured it was okay.

For many STD's the tests represent how you were 3-6 months prior because it can take time for the viruses to show up in your blood. So, say you were tested in May 2000, the test only tells you about your status for February 2000 and before. So, if your friends were tested they would still need to keep using condoms for about 1-2 years to determine if they was not infected.

I am not sure how time related tests are for STD's and STI's that are not viruses. Maybe Hanne and Miz S can bring us up to date on that.

I thought it wasn't so much for the virii to show up, as it was for the antibodies?

Anyways, as a guy, I can tell you that I don't care if she spits or swallows - apart from a hygeine thing, it doesn't mean a thing to me.

I prefer it to be "in" at the end, of course. Think about it...if a guy is busy going down on you, and stops just at the critical moment, then just starts to mess around with his hand, it feels nice, but not NICE.

Same principle applies. ;p

As far as pushing the girl down or thrusting at her, women do the same thing to guys. Ever press a guys face down against you? We just don't have the gag problem.

A brief comment: people do huge sexual studies for a reason. Unless you have been with a serious slice of the population in your own bed (I'm talking thousands of people, here, folks) you really cannot say that "guys" or "girls" do or like ANYTHING.

Between Hanne and myself at this point, I feel safe saying that we have had exponentially more lovers than most of our users, and neither of us can say that: guys" or "girls" or anything in between like ANY one thing.

I haven't experienced "guys" doing this in any general means. Soome have held my head, some have not. Some have sometimes, and not others. Sometimes I have in fact placed their hands on my head, and none of it had to do with swallowing, it had to do with being guided by the rhythm a man may have wanted. I have known women do do exactly the same thing sometimes.

I would suggest to you that someone who did it to "force" someone to swallow is exhibiting rather passive-agressive behaviour. I would also, as has been said here, advise you use a condom anyway.

So, let's watch the gender generalizing, okay?

Boys, this is your warning: Trying to control what a person giving oral sex to you is doing is a BAD idea, unless you fancy the idea of being bitten or puked on. Not trying to be mean, but the gag reflex is a strong one!

Putting your hands gently on someone's head during oral sex is absolutely fine. If that causes a lover to bite you, you have bigger issues than sex.

In addition, fellatio that is done gently and at someone's own pace shouldn't be triggering a gag reflex at all (and some do not have that reaction as strongly as others, period), because the penis isn't usually all the way back in the giver's throat.

Maybe this is a bit off topic ... But what about deep throating? I heard that that is when the penis is put further down the throat and past the gag reflex ... How does this work? Anyone tried?

Sorry if there is an article on here about it that i may have missed ... I did look tho

If my boyfriend held my head down when he came, i'd probably bite.

I havnt deep throated before. I am trying to train my gag reflex so that i can though.

I prefer my guy to climax in my mouth. of course i am into the passive aggresive thing. I prefer to be submissive when giving my b/f fellatio and do what he wants as long as it is within my limits. He feels the same way when giving me oral sex; he does what i want in his limits (but he doesnt really have limits for oral sex)

He could care less if i spit or swallowed. i would prefer to swallow just cuz it a sign of respect to me.

::ahem::

Unless of course you and your partner haven't been tested and monogamous for a long period of time, in which case it is respectful to keep you both alive and healthy, right?

I'm not sure what youre asking about so I'll take the liberty toanswer both questions:
Guys like to get head because they like it, and They like it when the girl 'swallows' because, well, i dunno... Does it make them feel more in control or something??

I love my Boyfriend! He doesn't want me to swallow. Besides the fact that I have a sensitive tummy, He just says he wants me to like what I'm doing (which I do) and not make me dread doing it or anything. Which I don't think that it is gross to swallow, I guess you could just say that I prefer not to.

Here's a guys point of view. For most (not all) guys it has nothing to do with dominance or anything.
