We know, as some of you do, that of late, we've had a lot of spammers leaving some pretty yucky stuff on the boards lately. We try and zap it as fast as we can, and also keep an eye out in the board registrations for iffy-looking handles and emails, but sometimes, it still winds up posted.
I've been seeing how many of you have been notifying us with the notification button when you see it, and that's really appreciated. It helps us see it way faster than we might otherwise. So, thank you so much for caring about our community that way. You're the best.
Just FYI, we could be almost 100% sure this would never happen if we changed the registration process so everyone who registered could not immediately go in, but had to be moderated by one of us first. The trouble with that, though, is that some users who needed help fast would have to wait. So, that's why we have not done that.
If, however, as a community, you feel like that would be better, I'm more than happy to talk about it as an option.
