Actually, I don't think that talking to your friend about this is the way to go, because she is in the same situation and likely just as confused as you are. Before you discuss any sort of a relationship with her, you need to first figure out what you feel for your boyfriend. In the meantime, what you're doing with your friend is cheating, and terribly unfair to your partner.

Kissing a girl does not make you a lesbian. How do you feel about women in general? Do you get attracted to them? Can you envision yourself sleeping with a woman? Having a relationship with one? And what about men? Are you satisfied with your relationship or do you not feel comfortable being with a guy?

Ultimately, no one can answer these questions for you. You'll need to figure out for yourself how you feel. If you do seriously think you are more interested in women than in men, do the decent thing and let your guy know right away, rather than stringing him along while you experiment with a woman.

Also, if you decide to break it off with your boyfriend, jumping into a fling with your friend right away might not be so wise, either. Give yourself some time to readjust to the situation, first.

i really am stuck in the same situation.
like for example me and my bestfriend
do stuff i guess you could say we "experiment"
on eachother,i dont know anyway else to say it.
and when likei kiss her or w/e it feels like
i dont know what i am.i'm just deadly confused
in the whole situation. i feel like she doesnt know what she is either. what should i do?
should i talk to her about it,but if i do that im scared it will ruin our bestfriendship we have. help me please. email me back.

In your case I think talking to your friend will be helpful. It might not clear up how you feel or help you pick a label for yourself (not that labels are actually necessary or even something everyone wants) but it will at least help you figure out what she's thinking and how your relationship with her is going.

September asked some very good questions in the second paragraph of her post; I think trying to answer them, at least in your own mind, can help.

hiya, i have to say that there is nothing wrong with being a lesbain or bi. i have been a lesbian for 3 years after i realized that i wasn't attracted to my boyfriend anymore. plus, its more exciting. I go on porn websites and meet up with girls. we have lesbain threesomes and sometimes we stay in bed all day.
if you wanna bit of action like that, then get rid of your boyfriend no-one will think less of you if you do. do you want to spend the rest of your life bored with a c**k wen you cud have luvly massive tits! think about it!

A) not every women has large breasts, and B) we encourage respect of both sides on Scarleteen. So your statements here are not appropriate or OK for a couple of reasons. You aren't just in a relationship with a penis or breasts; there is a person attached. That said, your comment about bored with a penis is not OK.

That said, being a lesbian is also not automatically more exciting. Homosexuality does not, by default, include surfing dating sites and engaging in threesomes on a regular basis. One cannot chose sexuality based on what seems to be more exciting.

(FYI, Lauren, since you are -- according to your profile -- just barely 14 years old, it's perhaps worth mentioning that not only are you under the age of consent for sex in your country, period, it's also not lawful for you to access pornography. Please bear in mind that our guidelines -- for everyone's protection -- include a statement that users may not post about unlawful activities here.

That said, and how that age and your tone makes what you are saying here questionable at best, please remember that the registration agreement you accepted when you registered also obliged you NOT to knowingly post false or fraudulent information here. If you are doing so or do so, it will result in your posting privileges being removed.)

Hey, kyra - lesbian sex is normal. It's just as normal as sexual activity between people of any other orientations [Smile] .
