I've been wondering whether I like girls for a while, and over the past year it's gotten more serious to the point I can't ignore it anymore. I'm trying to learn as much as I can to get used to the idea that I'm probably bi so I can come out and go back to being happy and shiny (I know, how naive of me, right?).

Every once in a while, though, I read something that really makes me step back and go, "Emma, you fool, you're probably just straight. This has gotten out of hand."

Comments like how normal it is for everyone to have a crush on someone of the same sex at some point and it still doesn't make you gay or bi really get to me, even though I've had crushes on a few girls now and it's only gotten more common-- I can literally feel it getting more frequent every week.

I don't really fantasize about girls, either, but to be totally honest that's because I don't really fantisize about anyone or anything. I barely fantasize about guys and I've always liked them and been comfortable with it.

How can I be so completely sure I'm bi and then let such little things convince me I'm not? I think I'm ready to come out to at least one or two people but then I totally reverse.

Would 'none of the above' be an acceptable answer? Some of us are gay, bi, or straight, others don't have much in the way of sexual interest, or don't care to identify, and that's cool too. There's no need to come out ever unless it's something you feel like doing. It can be made to sound like a rite of passage, but it certainly isn't a social (or any other kind of) obligation. You might do just as well identifying as what you feel like when and if you want to, and not worrying about it the rest of the time. You gave similar advice to someone else, so there's no need to feel odd about doing so yourself.
