Hey all,

My significant others have thus far been as follows (this is relevant, I promise): Boy -- Girl -- Boy.

Now, the first boy was a very long time ago and that relationship no longer affects/bothers me, and I simply haven't kept in touch with the guy.

As for the girl, we're not speaking anymore due to friend issues…reconcilliation has become a no-go.

Anyway, I started dating a boy and he's *wonderful*. But now there are all these questions in my head...

I'm beginning to think it's been ingrained into me that girls are "safer" to make out with. By safer I mean a reduced STD risk, and, well, no pregnancy. But I don't want to like girls better than boys just cause I know they won't impregnate me…does anyone know what I mean? I worry about a lot of things, but I don't want my orientation to be decided by what I'm scared of. Any insight?

Since the problem seems to be fear, specifically fear of pregnancy, have you thought about tackling that?

Practicing safer sex consistently, using methods that you trust, may pare your fear down considerably. It would also be worthwhile to discuss this with your boyfriend so he knows how you're feeling and how important such things are to you.
