I am a gay psychotherapist interested in beginning a therapy group for gay men who encounter problems with internet dating. Some of these problems seem to take their toll on the self-esteem of some men.

I would really appreciate some input from others of the various kinds of problems they have encountered with internet dating.

Thanks for your help.

It isn't just gay men, it's teens too and it can be very scary for a teenager to have an iBoyfriend. I have a friend who started dating this one guy through MySpace and he found out that they guy wasn't even a guy, it was a girl who was pretending to be a guy to mess with him. It really hurt his feelings and he actually stopped dating anything for a while. To me it seemed to really mess with his self-worth because this was his first "boyfriend" and he really liked him.

I have a wonderful bunch of coconuts.
