I'm American but I live overseas cos of my dad's job. I go to an international school. The internet has been a huge help to me in dealing w/being gay but I'd also kinda like to get involved in the real-live-no-need-to-hit-the-space-bar queer community. I can't really where I live now, though, b/c I don't speak the language well enough; also, I think I tend to attract a lot of attention because I look like a foreigner. I also have no method of transportation beyond my parents -- they pretty much always know exactly where I am. My school is smallish and definitely on the conservative side. I am sure if I asked the guidance counselor about starting a GSA he would tell me that the Girl Scouts of America already are on campus. Besides, I'm not really out. So yeah, that's about it.
Okay, enough from me for right now. Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation before, or is in this situation, or is aware of any resources, or has any advice, or...yeah, well, you get the point.
You didn't say where you're living -- if you're comfortable sharing that, I'll be happy to see if I can dig up some resources. One place to start might be to see if there's a PFLAG group in your corner of the world -- I know they have groups outside of the States.
