I'm Christian, but I'm not anti-gay. A lot of us aren't. I'm not hear to preach at all, I'm just hear to apologize to anyone who's ever been victimized or ostracized for the sexuality in the name of Jesus. I watched a Choose or Loose special where in there was a camera shot of someone exclaiming "God hates f**s!" Hello?! God doesn't hate anybody and it sickens me that hatred is the message being sent to an entire community of people about a supposedly "loving" God. I'm sorry.

Reina, what a beautiful sentiment, and how generous and lovely to say as much.
I think you'll find a lot of posters here really appreciate you saying what you have, and, for the record, I know an awful lot of Christians who feel the same way you do (anout homosexuality and about bigotry). Knowing what I know about history, I can assure you Jesus likely would have agreed with you too, eh?
Again, thank you, That was very nice. I agree, it is truly sad.

"God Hates Fags" seems to have been coined by the Reverend Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church, a church whose congregagtion seems to be made up of Phelps and his immediate family and their spouses.

Several years ago, I saw a Phelps guy carrying a sign that said "GOD HATES FAGS (Rom. 9:13)" I looked up Romans 9:13, and it said "Jacob have I loved; Esau have I hated." Thinking maybe I could get old Fred to converse with me (wow, this was before they had even bought the domain!), I asked him if I had missed something and Esau was gay. He told me I should listen to his sermons in RealAudio. Sigh.

God..this is so sick and so sad. I really do not know what else to say.
In Singapore, we always have Christians coming up to us on the streets and pushing pamphlets in our hands and telling us to repent from our sins, meaning go to their church, or we will burn in hell. I always refuse. Because it seems that we are worshipping 2 different Gods. My God is truly kind and beautiful. I always imagine him as a kindly old man who will hold me when I am scared, comfort me when I am sad and smile upon me indulgently when I am happy (stereotypical I know). My God will never threaten to have me burn in hell because I do not go to church.
Reina, that was truly a beautiful post. We really need more people like you around.
