My room is being re-decorated too... It's already pretty nice, because it was just re-done 4 years ago, but I'm bored with it.

It's super full and super cluttered. Double bed, desk, computer, night table, dresser and TV stand... all in an average size room -Argh!! Good Luck!

You could try putting pretty, large mirrors on the walls to add the illusion of space.
For the bed, either put it against a wall and make it a day-bed so it seems like a couch, or have it away from the wall wherever you'd like, and do the new trendy thing of the moment..get floor pillows to hang out on! Just make sure the floor is semi clean

Stacking baskets? Sweater boxes under your bed? New decorating is useless when it's a dump, so maybe have a clean out first. This is cool because you can have a garage sale or donate stuff to charity!

here's an article on decorating:

Check magazines and stuff for ideas! Even if they're not about decorating, look carefullat at the rooms shown for some ideas about wall colour, rugs, and storeage.

Hope this helps,

i'd love to help...i love decorating rooms...first of all, decide on a colour theme...are u gonna go all black and white, pastel shades, a moody blue, a cheerful yellow or what?...and then figure out the rest according to that...the mirror idea is a good one..and who can resist a mirror?!...have a load of cushions and stuff on the floor too to crash on, and on the sofa etc etc...have different sized cushions..that makes it look less regular...and have slightly different room i've decided to go all black and white...the bedlinen, cushions and curtains...and i've got wrought iron furniture to go with it (i adore wrought iron)...and i have loads of candles all over the room...imagine scenetd candles...ahh!...and oil burners cuz then ur room smells gorgeous...hehe..hope it helps!

What about trying out some painting/drawing or something to make cool pictures and get them framed, to hang on your walls? You could do them using the same combinations of colours you'll use in your room, and do them in different sizes and stuff

You can also do like a big timetable with space to pin notes and post-its, do it in funky colours, then cover it with that sticky transparent paper (we usually use it to cover books), that way you can write with felt-pen on it and rub it off and use it over and over. You can hang it on the wall

Or you can do the same kind of thing, the size of your desktop, and put it there with a sheet of glass over it (the same size) so you have it there when you need to see what you have to do

You can also use that idea of the glass on the top of the desk and put whatever you want under it, like pictures of your friends, dry flowers, etc

If I come up with some more ideas I'll post them! I love decorating and I always try doing something "new" by myself

OOH i love decorating as well! You should buy some books on Feng Shui! I adore Feng Shui! It is the chinese art and science of placement, and it tells you how different color schemes and furniture enhance and enrich your life! i guess it's kinda hard to explain but it is so much fun! also, get rid of JUNK! i recently decluttered my room and got rid of this HUUGE pile of junk..and i feel so good! it helps! u should really consider Feng can work wonders.
