I just wanted to let users here know that with our new boards we are FIRMLY asking that NO ONE post pregnancy scares in this area, which we want to truly be for people who are or have *actually* been pregnant, who are making pregnancy choices with *actual* pregnancies, or who are young parents.

We will be making clear where you CAN post those kinds of questions, but since we've tried to draw those lines in this area of the old boards with little success, I wanted to give a heads-up so that hopefully, this could go better with the new ones.

As I explain over here, please know that when you are ACTUALLY pregnant, or dealing with some part of an actual pregnancy, it can feel really rough, dismissive, and just plain maddening to have people talking about pregnancy fears, especially from things that can't result in pregnancies in the first place, like they were or will be real pregnancies.

Much in the same way that say, if we have a specific forum for those who are HIV positive, and truly dealing with that, people posting afraid they have HIV who don't would leave you feeling mighty lousy. Or if people came into our rape survivor support boards posting about fears of rape maybe happening to them in the future with the same gravity people who have actually survived abuse or assault have. In a word, it's just really insensitive and not at all considerate.

Because people who are or have been earnestly pregnant are usually dealing with things people who have not been or are not are not, figure that giving them that space is just a very basic gesture of kindness, compassion and respect, which is the least we all owe each other, period.

So, thanks in advance for those of you soon coming into the new boards for making an effort with this!
