I been on mirena since September few months after having my son he was born in June. I was wondering about the posiblity of being pregnant now. My period has been lighter ever sinse having the IUC inside and now has stopped altogether the last few motnths. Me and my boyfriend are in a commited relationship and dont use any other BC method. I took two pregnancy tests bolth said "not pregnant". I been feeling like there is something moving inside like a baby. Could i be pregnant but it not show on the test because of mirena?? Should i go to the DR. and do a blood test?

The hormones in Mirena won't interfere with a pregnancy test - the pregnancy tests look for a different hormone than the one in the IUC. So, you can trust the results of the tests you've taken, and considering how incredibly effective IUCs are, it's very unlikely you're pregnant. Per your periods getting lighter, and then stopping, that is a very common side effect of Mirena, and nothing to be concerned about.

By all means though, go to the doctor and get a blood test if it would reassure you - there's no harm in getting that done just for the peace of mind. If you're feeling something moving, you'll want to get that checked out as well.

For a little bit more information on Mirena, check out our article on IUDs: Intrauterine Devices (IUD, IUC or IUS)
