how long do u have to ait to take a pregnancy test? From what I've read here and other places im getting reall mixed answers?? Soem sites say 2 weeks after intercourse... some say the day of your missed period ... and some say that home test can't even be accurate for a week after your missed period! sorry to ask a question u probably get A LOT but im just confused... sorry again!
if it helps u answer my question at all... my lmp was April 30 and my cycles are usually 33-37 days apart ... dont know if that helps?

The best rule to follow is to take pregnancy tests 10-14 days after you last had unprotected sex. This is long enough for conception to occur (it can take up to 7 days) and for the hormone that pregnancy tests detect (hcG) to be produced in a high enough concentration for the tests to pick it up.
Of course, if your cycles are pretty regular, you can take it as soon as you have a missed period (since hcG signals to your body to stop having a period when a pregnancy has begun), but for many people it's hard to predict when a period should have come, so it's just easiest to follow the first rule.
