I had a orthoscopic knee surgery before I found out I was pregnant. The doctors didn't ask me if it was possible I could be and I wasn't aware or concerned. But now I'm wondering...Could the anaesthetic, medicine they use to put me to sleep, or the pain meds they gave me before I woke up (morphine) be harmful to the baby? Any information would be appreciated because I've looked it up online and haven't really found anything.
Thanks!

Your best bet is to call your ob/gyn and/or the doctor who did the surgery. We're not doctors and we don't know about where you were in the pregnancy at the time or specifically what meds they gave you. Your doctors will know exactly what went on and will be able to tell you about any risks to the pregnancy due to the surgery. So give them a call ASAP.

Also? With every surgery I've ever had, a pregnancy test was part of the pre-surgery prep. Given the heightened risks for pregnancy with anasthetics and certain meds, I'm fairly certain that's standard procedure. But definitely do call your doctors to make sure.

All right, I'll do that as soon as possible.
And no they didn't give me a pregnancy test, or even ask anything about it on the day..Maybe because I'm underrage or something...I really don't know. But I will definetely call. =]
