I heard the above quote in Meet the Fockers, when Pam tells Greg that she's pregnant. Why would she be able to smell everything because of being pregnant? I don't get it. [Confused]

Well, one reason could be the nausea that is often associated w/pregnancy. The week I found out I was pregnant, I remember walking into rooms where the smell of something was so strong that I had to run into the bathroom to barf, and everyone else said they didn't smell anything. Food especially, but also things like my bf's deodorant when we were going to sleep.

But every pregnancy is different, of course. Plus, it seems like (at least for me) when you're pregnant you're also hyper-aware of your body and everything around you, which probably also has something to do with the spidey-sense of smell.

Hormones are crazy things. It's weird to think that a mere chemical can totally control your mind, but it's TRUE!

I haven't been pregnant, but I have taken emergency contraception. Just that dose of hormones was enough to make me run for the loo because somebody had brought a cup of chili (with onions) into the room.

With that in mind, I am now afraid of morning sickness.
