I just found out that I was pregnant...I am 17...will it hurt my baby if I get in the tanning bed during pregnancy??

From what i've read online, there has not been enough research done to say whether tanning beds are safe during pregnancy. Many doctors/midwives suggest avoiding it for the first trimester, while others suggest avoiding it for the entire pregnancy.

Your best bet is to talk to your doctor/midwife about this before you go for your next session.

(You are aware of the dangers of tanning for YOU though, right? ie, sunburn, premature aging, skin cancer ...)

...and since tanning is in no way essential to anyone's life, it would be really easy to be better safe than sorry. Your skin will thank you for it anyway, espcially when you're older.

So, I'd just ditch the bed: it's no good for you, even without a baby, anyway.
