Its been about a week since my last period. I took a test the other day and it was positive. Is this pretty much a for sure thing? I know I still need to check with the doctor but I figured these things were pretty accurate. Also I wondered if anyone knew if taking certain medicines could do nexium...allegra or tylenol..thanks

False positives don't tend to happen, because HPTs test for a hormone only produced by your body during pregnancy.

So, if you got a positive result, time to go and see your GYN for a verification, and then start pre-natal care if your're planning on bringing the pregnancy to term. He or she can also tell you what medications are okay for you to take or not, but in the interim, instructions and specs for pregnant women are pretty much always on the side of the bottle or in the medication insert.
