I went to a place (called Birthright) yesterday with my friend Ashley b/c she thought she was pregnant. Well it turns out she wasn't. But I had one of the nurses take my temperature b/c I had not been feeling good at all! Me and my friend thought nothing of it. I mean, we didn't suspect what was fixing to happen. The doctor came back and said ***I*** was pregnant!!! I was delerious(?)!! I had no idea. I remember... just a couple of days ago I posted b/c I wanted a baby... guess I got my wish.

I guess I have calmed down... and I'm very happy. But I havn't told anyone except my boyfriend. What should I do?

Did they actually give you a pregnancy test (e.g. testing your blood or urine)? A nurse would not be able to tell whether you were pregnant or not simply by taking your temprature.

I suggest you buy a pregnancy test at a store and take it right away to get some actual information, or go to your own doctor.

To be frank, a lot of "anti-abortion counselling centers" (and Birthright is one of these) use some very dubious and medically-unreliable tactics. It's highly likely that the "doctor" was not medically-trained at all, as these centres can rarely afford to have actual doctors on staff, and usually do not have medical licenses.

If you are pregant, though, you do need to see a doctor and start getting regular medical care, especially if you plan to give birth. You'll also need to start making plans for where you and the baby are going to live, how you're going to feed, clothe, and provide for it, and how you're going to make sure that it gets medical care. Since you're a minor and still living with your parents, this will probably mean that they're going to be involved in these decisions as well, so you'll want to think about how you're going to tell them.

Thats the thing ErinK... I don't know how to tell them. I need help with that.

Also... I had my boyfriend's sister bring me a pregnancy test. She has a little girl and she went to the same place... so she said to be sure. I'm waiting right now... so when I get the results *I'll post!!*

(His sister said they said she wasn't pregnant... now I know what you mean.)

It also sounds like Ashley should get a home pregnancy test, too, just to be sure.

Judging by your boyfriend's sister's experience, Birthright are pretty unreliable.
