A girl I know is preganant and she hasn't told her mom yet(she thinks she'll get put out), she hasn't decided whether or not she wants to have an abortion or keep the baby and she is like 3 months! I told her she needs to figure out something and QUICK! How long does she have before abortion isn't an option anymore? Does she still have time?

If she's past the first trimester, then she likely no longer has abortion as an option. If she's just at that point, then maybe. She should call her local clinic immediately if she wants to terminate the pregnancy to find out.

She may have to tell her mother regardless, based on her age (she may need parental consent) and how many weeks she is (health risks go up substantially for second trimester abortions), though.

I did a search and found that there are some clinics in Maryland that apparently do perform abortions up to 16 or 18 weeks (or even 24 weeks) of pregnancy.

So if she's 12 weeks pregnant or less, then she might still be able to get an abortion in the next few weeks, if she makes a decision soon and is able to travel to get to a clinic.

(Bear in mind that I don't know how accurate any of these sites are).

According to Planned Parenthood, Maryland has a parental notification law, requiring that the parents of a minor be notified before she has an abortion.

However, this can be waived if the doctor decides that the minor is mature enough to make the decision herself or that it is in her best interests for the parents not to be told.

Another link that might be useful:

Planned Parenthood of Maryland

Their phone number is 410.576.1400.

If she decides she wants an abortion, they might be able to help advise on the nearest clinic to her that provides the right services, depending on how many weeks she's actually been pregnant (some clinics only provide first-trimester abortions).
