Hi there, and welcome to the boards.

I am unsure of the answer to your question, but please review the guidelines you agreed to when you registered that state:

Your question will be answered in one of your posts, there is no need to post more than once. It uses up unnecessary bandwidth.

Hmmm, I've heard that sex during normal pregnancies can be perfectly safe for the baby. But helping it? I haven't ever heard about that before.

I suppose, that if having sex means that the mother is in a loving and supportive relationship, then, well, that's great for the mother AND the baby!

I've know some people avoid sex because they think it will harm the growing baby. Or they think the baby will get poked and truamatized. But there's not much truth to these fears. The baby is well protected in a nice little watery sack, and is pretty oblivious to what mommy and daddy are doing.

As long as sex is comfortable for both people, and the doctors say that the pregnancy is healthy and normal, sex should be okay. Hey, maybe it does have some hidden benefits, but I don't know about them...

Does anyone have anything else to add, or does anyone want to correct something I've said?

Sex during pregnancy is perfectly safe. I guess it could be considered GOOD for the baby, like was said before, in that it makes the mother feel good, relaxed, loved, etc. In LATE pregnancy, like when the mother is overdue (past her due date, when the baby is 'late' being born) doctors often recommend having sex to trigger labor. Sperm contacting a pregnant woman's cervix in LATE late late pregnancy can help it open, in preparation for the baby being born. Also I have heard that orgasm can trigger uterine contractions, which is why docs sometimes tell preg. women to have sex if they are overdue. Anyway. I hope that helps!
