Author Topic: What are some household items that can be sex toys?

Icon 1 posted            Edit/Delete Post
I am a 16 year old girl and I cant get any sex toys from online store, so I wanted to know if there are any household items I can use. Or is there any other way to get sex toys for me?
Thank you!

We don't recommend using anything for insertion which wasn't recommended for that purpose - could cause injury and/or may not be cleaned properly (and then cause infection).

Your choices are to wait until you're of age, or ask someone who is older to buy something for you.

I don't want to contradict anyone, but I personally use a smooth-handled hairbrush for masturbation, and I've been told by a volunteer here that that was safe as long as you wash it after each use, better yet, cover it with a condom. Just wanted to throw that out there...

No worries, Roxie.

Obviously, too, not all toys are used for insertion, anyway.

But for sure, plenty of folks use household items to masturbate with, and so long as it's something without any sharp edges, or which could get lose inside the body, and is something a) not shared, and b) which can either be sanitized or covered, it's usually all good.

I also always like to point out that things you'll see in stores marketed as "back massagers" are usually some of the better vibrators there are, and there is no age limit on those since they're not marketed as expressly sexual items.

I'd like to add that plenty of folks who *are* legally able to buy toys marketed specifically for sexual use still prefer to use household items.

One caveat I'd mention with the back massagers is that some of them are marketed as heated massagers. These may feel great on the back but can be too hot for sensitive genitals. Plenty of back massagers aren't heated though, and are of better quality than many toys specifically meant for sexual use.
