I've always had a little bit of a sweet tooth, and I always crave a little chocolate around my period, but I've noticed recently (within the past month) that my sugar cravings have gone crazy. I have an incredibly hard time controlling myself. And of course, once I eat one sweet thing, two hours later I crave even more. It's become a vicious cycle. I recently switched to a new brand of pill about a month and a half ago. Is it possible that the change in hormones has caused my insatiable sugar cravings?

It's possible, yep. Cravings for certain foods aren't one of the more common side effects, but that's not to say it doesn't happen. Since you've only been on this new pill for a month and a half or so, give your body another month or two to get used to it, and then if you find this is still an issue and a side effect you don't want to deal with, you can talk to your health care provider about switching brands.
