Hi everyone! This post is a lot different than my normal ones, but, it's still an interesting one.

Every since I was born, I've had this marking, right over my heart. It seems to be a birthmark (or at least, my family called it that for the longest time). It's faded a bit since I was little. It's a pale purple tone, almost like dark eye circles, but on my chest. There are some slight red dots (almost like blood vessels..?) in it as well. It comes up nearly to the top of my breasts (I'm female). It's the size of maybe...a half dollar. The texture is unpleasant as well, it's softer and squishier than normal areas of skin.

I've always hated this marking! All throughout school, well, throughout life, this....thing...has kept me from wearing certain tops, dresses, and swimsuits. When I change clothes for gym, I always have to turn around and face the wall so no one sees it. I've always wanted it removed, but removal is painful and leaves ugly scars.

Anyone here ever deal with something like this? I hate feeling alone [Frown]

You are not alone, Kitty! Everyone has a birthmark, or a scar, or some other "imperfection". That's part of being human (and also, I think, part of what makes us interesting!).

Personally, I have a skin discoloration much like the one you describe that stretches all the way across my wrist, and also a few scars from surgery. I love all of these, because they are part of who I am.

I have a huge incision right above where my pubic hair is from bladder surgery. That'll be interesting to explain to the first girlfriend that takes my pants off.

But seriously, it's nothing to be ashamed of. I also have a red birthmark on my head, people call me Harry Potter all the time 'cause of it. Birthmarks are what they are and you should be proud to be you and if someone has a problem with your body, that's their problem and not yours.
