Hi, I'm new to the boards. This has been concerning me lately, so I told my mom about it. But I want to hear your opinion on it.
Just in the last week or so I've noticed that my belly is... larger. I'm 17 and normally a stick-thin girl, so it's really noticeable. And it's a very focused, firmer mass on my abdomen. I want to just pin it on the idea that my metabolism is slowing down and I'm just getting fat, but the way it's focused there really does strike me as out of the ordinary.
The other possible cause really frightens me. What if it's pregnancy? But I'm a garunteed virgin. Never had a boyfriend, never kissed a boy.
My mom suggested that I have my sister who's a registered nurse check it out, but I'm nervous. So could there be any other cause for this lump?

Hi RocketNene,

This certainly wouldn't be a pregnancy but if you have a new lump on your abdomen you'd want to show it to your doctor. There can be many possible causes such as skin or muscle lumps, bladder and bowel issues. Or it could be something which is normal for you.
