When I pull apart the inner labia, there's a tongue-like structure protruding from the vagina. Like, not the colloquial vagina but the actual vagina. It feels like an extension of the lower vagina wall (or a totally different structure)that's sticking outside-- definitely a substantiative fleshy tapered thing, 1" long and 1/4" diameter at its widest?
I can't remember if this is a new thing that's developed or has always been there, and I feel stupid/neglectful about that. Previously I would check sitting on a soft surface like my bed, and my vaginal entrance is just low enough for me to overlook the base of it. To be clear, the thing is protruding from the wall of the vagina closest to the anus.
possibly relevant: - I have had penetrative intercourse just once before - It doesn't seem to have many nerve endings at all. I can't feel much sensation just by touching it. I can definitely feel something if I pinch it though.
Does anyone have an idea of what this is? Is this just normal variation in vaginas? I haven't seen any mention of this possible variation online.

I can tell you that I likely have the exact same thing, was deeply distraught thinking my vagina is falling out or some such terrible things. It looks like this fleshy protrusion just at the base of the vaginal opening, closer to the anus, and it has some sensation. I also tried looking online to no avail, so I gathered my courage and went to a gynecologist specifically to ask what is up with my vaginal anatomy.
However (and thankfully!) according to my gynecologist it's a perfectly normal vaginal fold and no reason for any concern. If you're worried, though, I suggest seeing a gynecologist.

100percentwool , what that most likely is, from the sounds of things, is a remnant of your hymen/corona.
Remember: that structure is just inside the vaginal opening, surrounding it. As it wears away over time, it can take on many different shapes and forms, and what you're describing sound typical of one of many variations to me.
