I am full of questions lately, aren't I? You all are just too good at answering them lol. Anyway...

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with evening primrose oil supplements for PMS or eczema (preferably PMS, but I heard it also helps eczema, which I have pretty badly).

PMS wise, I turn into the yelling-at-everyone-for-no-reason, chocolate loving, acne ridden, sore-breasted PMS stereotype woman [Razz] It's not terrible, it's just annoying and down right confusing for my poor boyfriend who ends up getting the worst of it.

Eczema wise, I have huge (like3 inch diameter places) on my arms and sometimes face and nothing my doctor prescribes works for very long. I've had it pretty much all my life. I read from drugs.com that eczema and rosacea are two more off-label uses for the supplement.

Also, these things SMELL to high heavens! ick!

Any advice or experiance is very greatly appreciated!

hi there!

I've taken evening primrose oil before for my hormonal changes and found it to lessen the negative impact i was experiencing mood-changes wise. similarily, i found vitamin b helpful generally. Regarding eczema, i'm not sure at all. I've dealt with mild skin irritation on my arms and legs, but that cleared up when i took more care drying off after a shower and using a moisturiser with vitamin e.
I can't guarantee you'll experience the same nor do i really feel comfortable recommending supplements on a site aimed at minors, but these were my experiences and they'll give you some perspective.

Thanks! I take vitamin b already in my multivitamin. I'm not really looking for recommendations, just experiences. I have had many fails with supplements like st. johns wort and magnesium, so I know not to expect miracles. I took one today, so I guess I'll see what happens in a month [Smile]
