Well, not ten minutes ago I was bent over the toilet retching. I had a very tough workout early this morning and I felt a little nauseous when I was really pushing myself, but I daresay I even felt good for the rest of the day. Then bam, 4:19 am on the dot I start feeling nauseous, as if I hadn't eaten in a long time or something. When I was trying to puke, not much was coming up, mostly because my stomach is pretty much empty. Right now I'm nibbling on a banana to try to settle my stomach and I talked to my sister, who happened to be awake (she has the flu and has stayed home for a few days, but has not been sick to her stomach, so I don't think I caught her flu bug). I know it's flu season, but other than being sick just now and having an upset tummy afterwords, I don't feel ill. My sister said that sometimes an intense workout can make you nauseous, but it's been almost 24 hours. Is this the case, or should I see a doctor? Also, if this is caused by exercise, is there a way I can prevent this from happening after future workouts?

Hey SnailShells, if you're still feeling ill and it's of concern to you, I'd definitely go to the doctor or at least call your doctor's office, a nurse hotline or a pharmacist asap. It sounds like the flu versus anything specifically exercise-related but we're neither MDs nor fitness experts; we always want to help support users but this is really beyond our sex ed focus and knowledge base. I hope you're feeling better soon! [Smile]
