since i've taken the pill, my sex drive is almost nonexistent, my boobs hurt, and i have a large appetite :/

however, i know when i'm going to get my period, and i have absolutely no cramps. (they used to be really bad. i'd have to lie on the bed for about an hour with a heating pad.)

i'm not really interested in hormonal birth control right now (lets just say i'm not that sexually active for the time being), so i don't want to look into other pills or alternatives.

are these sound reasons to stop taking my pills? what else can i do to ease my cramps? also, using condoms correctly has about a 3% failure rate, right?

Per your cramps, it really depends on why you're getting them. So, the best first bet is to talk to your doctor: sometimes, an alternate medication like a basic anti-inflammatory works just fine.

Other times, it can be as simple as some lifestyle changes: changes to your diet, especially just before and during your period, to your fitness and general health.

Those are perfectly sound reasons to want to go off the pill, for the record.

And using a condom correctly start to finish (that means no genital contact without a condom, putting it on correctly, and using plenty of extra condom-safe lubricant) is almost as effective as a hormonal method and is highly unlikely to fail [Smile]
